About Zahra >

I completed my B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degree in TESL/TEFL. Also, I have been teaching full time in the English Department at Islamic Azad University in Iran for years. I am doing my second Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Jeffery Jones and am researching in his lab at Wilfrid Laurier University. My area of interest is bilingual language processing. I am especially interested in understanding how two language systems are related in a bilingual brain. To this end, I compare the processing of cognates being translation equivalents with similar phonological but different orthographic representations in Persian and English and noncognates being translation equivalents with different phonological and orthographic representations in Persian and English, using electroencephalogram (EEG).
